ATF Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before registering as an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF).

1. The Booking Deposit & Commitment

To secure a winning bid and lock in a collection slot, the Seller must pay a £50 Booking Deposit. This deposit acts as a guarantee of the vehicle's availability and the accuracy of the description provided.

Refund Trigger: The deposit is fully refundable or credited to the Seller only upon the successful verification and handover of the vehicle at the agreed time.

2. The Escrow Mechanism

Upon acceptance of a bid, the ATF/Buyer shall transmit the full balance of the winning bid to a secure Escrow Account. These funds are held independently and are released to the Seller only when the ATF confirms successful collection via the platform's GPS-verified check-in.

3. The Standard of Description

The Seller warrants that the vehicle is complete as per industry standards (including Engine, Gearbox and Catalytic Converter) unless explicitly disclosed otherwise in the time-stamped submission.

If the ATF determines upon arrival that major components are missing, this shall be deemed a material breach of the description.

4. Failure to Collect & Forfeiture Rules

Condition A — No Show

If the Seller or the vehicle is not present at the agreed location within 30 minutes of the scheduled time, as verified by the ATF's GPS check-in, the £50 deposit will be forfeited.

Condition B — Misrepresentation

If the vehicle does not match the timestamped description, the ATF may abort collection. In this event, the escrow balance reverts to the ATF and the Seller's £50 deposit is forfeited to the ATF to cover wasted transport costs.

5. The Anti-Dispute Evidence Clause

Both parties agree that the platform data logs — including submission timestamps, ATF geolocation check-in, and any time-stamped photographic evidence uploaded via the platform — shall serve as the final and binding evidence in any dispute regarding deposit forfeiture or escrow reversion.

6. Legal Compliance

No Cash Payments

Under the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, no cash can be paid for scrap cars. Escrow or electronic transfer is the only legal payment method.

Right to Cancel

Once the £50 booking deposit is paid and the ATF has been dispatched, the distance selling cooling-off period does not apply because the service (booking logistics and collection) has already begun.
